Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Axel Holmstrom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Angus MacTavish (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Axel Holmstrom!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Angus MacTavish!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, William Gold and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Holmstrom closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Holmstrom controls the position.
Holmstrom wants to control but MacTavish is keeping him busy.
MacTavish is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
MacTavish sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Holmstrom seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but MacTavish does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
MacTavish avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Holmstrom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

MacTavish is staying active underneath Holmstrom, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Holmstrom shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has MacTavish pinned against the cage. MacTavish gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Holmstrom shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says MacTavish as he avoids it easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
MacTavish stops a takedown attempt from Holmstrom.
Holmstrom is breathing heavily.
MacTavish managing to block the knees to the body from Holmstrom.

MacTavish escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Holmstrom tries to land knees in the clinch but MacTavish avoids the damage to the body.
MacTavish has Holmstrom pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Holmstrom manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Holmstrom seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Holmstrom is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Holmstrom wants to stand but MacTavish is controlling the position.
Holmstrom looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Holmstrom tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Holmstrom is working an open guard so MacTavish takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
MacTavish misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Holmstrom cracks MacTavish with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Excellent takedown into side control there by MacTavish.
Holmstrom manages to work his way to half guard, despite MacTavish's best efforts.
Holmstrom on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Holmstrom tries to get out of the position.
Holmstrom controlling the position for now.
Holmstrom moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
MacTavish wants to control from the top but Holmstrom keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Angus MacTavish dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Holmstrom tries for a takedown but MacTavish circles away easily
and MacTavish counters with a solid body kick.

MacTavish rushes Holmstrom and presses him up against the cage.
MacTavish digs a right hand underneath Holmstrom's ribcage. Holmstrom let out a lung full of air as it connected.

MacTavish jumps into guard, dragging Holmstrom to the mat.
MacTavish is trying to control the position from the bottom.

MacTavish looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
MacTavish looking to hit a scissor sweep but Holmstrom is one step ahead there.
MacTavish pulls Holmstrom in close to his closed guard and prevents Holmstrom from doing any damage or advancing position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Holmstrom postures up.

MacTavish wants to sweep here but Holmstrom controlling him for the moment.
MacTavish is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
MacTavish passes the guard and advances to mount!
MacTavish scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Holmstrom?
Holmstrom tries to improve his position but instead MacTavish has taken his back!

MacTavish slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Will MacTavish go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
MacTavish controls the action.
MacTavish has the hooks in. Holmstrom is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

MacTavish is cranking Holmstrom's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Holmstrom! He's tightened the choke and Holmstrom is tapping out!
