Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Neco Hiroshi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Brock Rothsilva! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Kenichi Hosakawa and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sloppy strikes from Rothsilva. Those never looked like landing. Rothsilva misses with a combination
and Hiroshi counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Rothsilva keeping moving, preventing Hiroshi from controlling successfully. Hiroshi makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Hiroshi tries to free his leg and advance position but Rothsilva is retaining full guard. Hiroshi has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Hiroshi lands a couple of elbows. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rothsilva is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Rothsilva is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Hiroshi distracts Rothsilva with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Hiroshi trying to control the position from guard on top but Rothsilva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rothsilva throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Rothsilva had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hiroshi defends it easily. Hiroshi seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rothsilva looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rothsilva working for a triangle but Hiroshi defends it easily.
Hiroshi tries to free his leg and advance position but Rothsilva is retaining full guard. Hiroshi engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Hiroshi works a leg free and moves into half guard. Hiroshi is trying to control. Rothsilva wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Rothsilva makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Rothsilva. Hiroshi sitting in guard, not really doing much. Hiroshi tries to free his leg and advance position but Rothsilva is retaining full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hiroshi is sitting in close to Rothsilva's body. Rothsilva has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Hiroshi is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Hiroshi is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Rothsilva.
