Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Danielson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Danielson comes to the cage accompanied by Avery Watts - A Cut Above. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Matt Danielson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jon Jones! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Chris Saunders and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Danielson fails with a takedown attempt. Danielson misses with a takedown attempt - Jones sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Danielson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jones sprawls well. Jones wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Danielson gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Danielson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Danielson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side. Danielson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Danielson is defended easily by Jones. Danielson is breathing heavily. A head kick misses from Jones. Danielson drives through with a takedown into guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Jones has his feet on Danielson's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Danielson fails with the takedown. Jones goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Danielson sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A head kick misses from Jones. Jones pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Jones has picked Danielson up - he's going for a ride! Jones dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Jones throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Jones lands with a punch from half guard. Danielson is trying to control but can't.

Danielson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Jones moves nicely into side control. Jones has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Jones controls the position. Jones throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Jones fails to land a wild elbow strike.
You can see the frustration on Danielson's face as Jones controls the position. Danielson is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Jones postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Danielson keeps working. Danielson looking for a sweep but Jones has passed into full mount! Oh no! Danielson blocking the ground and pound. Danielson is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Jones lands a nice shot to the head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Danielson holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Jones tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Danielson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Danielson tries to get out of the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jones sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Danielson avoids a series of strikes thrown by Jones.
Jones throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Jon Jones dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Jones throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Danielson's head. Danielson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jones swivels and escapes. Horrible takedown by Danielson or perhaps it was just good defense by Jones which made him look bad. Matt Danielson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jones displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Danielson. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Danielson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jones lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Jones throws a head kick that misses. Jones tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Danielson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jones pinned against the cage. Jones gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Jones darts in and clinches Danielson up against the cage. This has been an exciting period of action! Jones has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Danielson clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
That's one minute gone in the round. Danielson covering up well under a barage of strikes. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Danielson covering up well and avoiding damage. Danielson tries to escape but Jones has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Danielson is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Jones.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage. Jones controls the action. Jones misses with an elbow to the head. Jones somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back. Jon Jones has got the better of the ground game so far. Jones tightening his grip on Danielson, looking for the choke. Jones somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back. Good control from Jones.

Jon Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Danielson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Jones closes the distance and clinches. Jones is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Jones tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Jones throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Danielson blocks it with crossed arms. Danielson managing to block the knees to the body from Jones.

Jones will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Danielson up against the cage.

Danielson misses with a takedown attempt and Jones moves into the clinch. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Danielson takes a knee right on the jaw!
Danielson has Jones pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Jones manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Jones misses with an elbow over the top. Jones with an attempt at a knee that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones jumps guard and drags Danielson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Jones working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Danielson. Danielson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jones, up you get! Nice sprawl there from Jones as Danielson shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Danielson. That's going to take a lot out of him. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jones tries to land a knee to the head but Danielson blocks with his arms.
Matt Danielson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Danielson misses with an elbow strike.
And that's the end of the fight! Jon Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Jones has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
