Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Remy Bonjasky! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, Stephan Anton! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Donald Grub and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bonjasky displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Anton. Anton tries for a takedown but Bonjasky circles away easily and Bonjasky counters with a left and a right that stings Anton. Anton doesn't succeed with the takedown and Bonjasky counters with a three punch combo that has Anton backing up. Anton nods at Bonjasky to acknowledge the strikes. Remy Bonjasky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stephan Anton. Bonjasky looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Anton shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Bonjasky counters by moving into the clinch. A bit of stalling here from Bonjasky.
Bonjasky is defending well against a takedown attempt. Anton wants a takedown.
Bonjasky comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
It looks like Stephan Anton has been cut. Bonjasky creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Anton's defenses. This has been an exciting period of action! Bonjasky escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Good exchange - Bonjasky coming out on top. Anton looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Anton fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bonjasky sprawls well initially but Anton persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Anton looks winded!
That's one minute gone in the round. Anton not landing any meaningful shots this time. Anton looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Bonjasky wants to get back to his feet. Bonjasky wants to control but Anton is keeping busy and won't allow it. Anton not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bonjasky is refusing to be controlled, as Anton sits in half guard. Bonjasky blocking the ground and pound attempt from Anton. Anton looks to land a strike but Bonjasky avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Bonjasky throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Bonjasky controlling the position. Bonjasky preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Anton accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Bonjasky will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Anton missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anton is looking to work some ground and pound but Bonjasky has wrist control. Anton passes Bonjasky's left leg - he's now in half guard. Bonjasky tries to kick Anton off but Anton keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Anton working over Bonjasky with some ground and pound. Bonjasky looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Bonjasky wants to get back to his feet. Anton thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bonjasky's head. Anton thows a huge punch but Bonjasky dodges it nicely.
Anton seems to be working for a kimura but Bonjasky defends the submission attempt. Anton working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Bonjasky's thigh. Bonjasky counters though and makes it back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Anton is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Bonjasky is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Bonjasky has escaped and now he's on top! Anton doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Stephan Anton will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Stephan Anton's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Anton fails to land the takedown. Remy Bonjasky is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Bonjasky scores with a head kick.
Anton fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Bonjasky moves in looking to clinch but Anton pushes him off. Anton dodges the punch combination from Bonjasky.
Remy Bonjasky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Anton will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Remy Bonjasky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stephan Anton. Bonjasky misses with a hook
and Anton counters with a series of strikes. Bonjasky will be more careful next time no doubt. Anton tries for a takedown but Bonjasky circles away easily and Bonjasky makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Anton is trying hard to land a takedown here. Bonjasky sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bonjasky misses with a double jab
so Anton counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anton trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Anton is breathing heavily. Anton stopping the sweep attempt from Bonjasky. Anton with a flurry of punches that miss. Anton stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bonjasky swivels though and keeps the full guard. Anton has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Anton throws a strike but Bonjasky rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Anton working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bonjasky doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bonjasky manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bonjasky is stalling in the full guard. Anton working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Bonjasky.

Bonjasky would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Bonjasky postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Bonjasky stands up and waves to Anton to follow him. Nice body punch from Bonjasky. Bonjasky misses with the combination.
Anton fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bonjasky avoids it really well and circles away. Bonjasky misses with the combination.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Nice straight punches there by Bonjasky. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Bonjasky.
That has opened up Stephan Anton's cut even more. Anton tries to keep at a distance but Bonjasky has taken the fight into the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bonjasky throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Bonjasky throws a head kick that misses and Anton counters with a nice double leg into guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bonjasky has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Anton off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bonjasky walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Anton checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Anton takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Anton checks a leg kick. Bonjasky misses with a jab to the body
and Anton counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bonjasky won't be happy with that. Anton scoring with punches and elbows. Stephan Anton has got the better of the ground game so far. Anton looks up at the clock and then as Bonjasky takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Anton smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Anton in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Anton tries for a kimura but Bonjasky is defending well. Bonjasky is looking to reverse the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bonjasky manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! This has been an exciting period of action! The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Bonjasky has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Anton wants to control but Bonjasky is keeping busy and won't allow it. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Bonjasky wants to stand up but Anton has a hold of him and won't allow it.

We're going to have a standup here because Remy Bonjasky wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Danga de danga de dang - Bonjasky scores with a four punch combination! Bonjasky finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Bonjasky is looking to land body kicks. Anton closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Anton throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Anton working the body and head with strikes. Anton lands a decent elbow from side control. This has been an exciting period of action! Anton goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Bonjasky has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Anton but great work by Bonjasky. Anton is looking for a sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here. Anton tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Bonjasky easily slips into full mount! Anton tries to get back to half guard but can't. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bonjasky trying to control but Anton is having none of it.
And that's the end of the fight! Stephan Anton comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Anton has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
