Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tomoyasu Matsunaga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry Charles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Charles has chosen Don't Fake the Funk by Prince Charles as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tomoyasu Matsunaga! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Henry Charles! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Charles uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Matsunaga. Charles swings for the body but Matsunaga moves out of range.
Matsunaga misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Matsunaga with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Charles to score with a decent uppercut. Matsunaga throws a right hand that Charles ducks under and follows up with a left that Charles also avoids with ease. Matsunaga throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Charles fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Matsunaga manages to avoid it. A looping hook to the body misses from Charles. Matsunaga does a little dance to reset his feet. Matsunaga misses with a double jab
and Charles counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Charles looks to land a right hand but Matsunaga moved out of range. Charles scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Matsunaga wants to land a leg kick but Charles is out of range. Matsunaga moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Matsunaga throws a right hand that misses
and Charles makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Matsunaga doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. This has been an exciting period of action! Charles lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

That's one minute gone in the round. A shot to the liver by Charles. Beautiful body shot. Charles swings for the body but Matsunaga moves out of range.
A decent looking cross lands there for Charles. Charles closes the distance and clinches. Charles working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Charles has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Charles's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Charles ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Matsunaga moves away. Matsunaga takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Nice uppercut there from Charles. Matsunaga shoots and misses and Charles counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Matsunaga lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Charles backs up against the cage.

Charles closes the distance and pushes Matsunaga back into the cage. Matsunaga tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Charles lands an elbow inside. Charles's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Charles bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Matsunaga's head backwards. Charles misses with a body shot.

letting Charles counter with a right hand. A low kick from Matsunaga misses and Charles counters with a lovely straight right hand! Charles looks to land a combination but Matsunaga avoids it well. Nice body punch from Charles. Charles moves into range and clinches up with Matsunaga. A nice glancing elbow lands by Charles. Matsunaga working hard to break the clinch. Charles lands on the inside with an uppercut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A battle for position here, against the cage. Matsunaga fails to pull guard.
Charles lands with a short shot to the head. Charles stalling the fight.
Still in the clinch, Charles scores with a nice short uppercut. Matsunaga has had enough of the clinch but Charles keeps him there for the moment. Charles leaning against his opponent.
Charles breaks from the clinch.
A combination from Matsunaga does no damage. Matsunaga throws a body punch but Charles moves out of range. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Matsunaga misses with a jab, cross combination.
No joy there for Matsunaga, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Matsunaga will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Henry Charles dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Charles lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Charles's jab looks to have found its range, popping Matsunaga under the eye. Charles fails to land with a series of punches.
Charles cracks Matsunaga with a good jab. Matsunaga throws a right hand that Charles ducks under and follows up with a left that Charles also avoids with ease. Charles fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Matsunaga swinging wildly here.

Matsunaga is trying to pull guard but Charles turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Charles lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Charles. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Charles lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Matsunaga backwards.
That's one minute gone in the round. Charles lands with a right to the head. Charles lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Matsunaga or not. Matsunaga working hard to break the clinch. Charles using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Charles softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Matsunaga fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Oh Matsunaga is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Matsunaga seems to have got his legs back now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Charles breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Charles lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Charles cracks Matsunaga with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Matsunaga falls to his knees and Charles doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
