Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Reese (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Luis Montoya Rivera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kyle Reese! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
25 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jose Luis Montoya Rivera! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Reed Andrews and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Montoya Rivera throws a shot to the body.
Reese thuds a left hand into Montoya Rivera's body. Montoya Rivera thows a body shot but no joy. Montoya Rivera stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Montoya Rivera wants it to stay on the feet. Reese shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Reese was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Reese swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Montoya Rivera is now in Reese's guard. A big mistake from Reese there, giving up the dominant position! Reese wants to sweep but no luck. Montoya Rivera distracts Reese with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Montoya Rivera has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Reese looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Montoya Rivera wants to control from the top but Reese keeps moving.

Reese trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Reese thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Reese bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Montoya Rivera's guard. Reese wants to control from the top but Montoya Rivera keeps moving. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Reese's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Reese in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Reese pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Montoya Rivera is keeping the position for now. Reese with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reese trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Montoya Rivera lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Reese! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Reese is desperately trying to improve his position but Montoya Rivera has a good base and remains in mount. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Reese throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Reese really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Montoya Rivera looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Montoya Rivera putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Reese tries to hold on but Montoya Rivera pushes him away. Montoya Rivera punishing his opponent with strikes. Montoya Rivera landing strikes from the mount. Reese is desperately trying to improve his position but Montoya Rivera has a good base and remains in mount. Montoya Rivera avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Reese loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Reese postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Reese throwing strikes but missing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Kyle Reese will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Reese wants the takedown. Montoya Rivera is fighting it off but Reese persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Montoya Rivera's guard against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Montoya Rivera cracks Reese with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Montoya Rivera is landing with some decent strikes but Reese is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Montoya Rivera lands a nice shot to the head. Reese is desperately trying to improve his position but Montoya Rivera has a good base and remains in mount. This has been an exciting period of action! Montoya Rivera raining down shots from the mount! Montoya Rivera lands with some strikes. Montoya Rivera with shots to the head and body - Reese looks very uncomfortable down there. Montoya Rivera lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Reese has his hands clasped together but Montoya Rivera breaks the hold and Reese is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Montoya Rivera!
