Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Michael Gordon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Randolph Turpin!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Ryoma Takatsuka and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turpin avoids the head kick by Gordon.
Gordon tries to clinch there but Turpin circles away.
Gordon throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gordon tries a head kick but it misses.
Gordon shoots for a double leg takedown but Turpin sprawls well. He's pushed Gordon's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Turpin throws a jab but it's blocked by Gordon.
Turpin scores with a crisp jab that stopped Gordon in his tracks.
Turpin lands the left hand.
Gordon takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Gordon shoots in but no luck this time.
Gordon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Turpin tries to avoid it but Gordon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Turpin to the ground. Turpin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Gordon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gordon throws a lazy head kick
and Turpin cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Turpin misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gordon.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Turpin fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gordon looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Gordon takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Gordon takes one to the side of the head.
Gordon throws a sloppy head kick and Turpin moves out of range easily.
Turpin blocks the body kick.
Turpin stuns Gordon with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Turpin jabs at Gordon's body.
Sloppy strikes from Turpin. Those never looked like landing.
Turpin misses with a body shot.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Turpin, right into the meat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Turpin scores with a jab to the head.
Gordon is rocked!
It looks like Michael Gordon has been cut.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gordon misses with a two punch combination.
Oh Gordon is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Turpin scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Gordon doesn't seem bothered though.
Gordon seems to have got his legs back now.
Gordon takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Turpin throws an overhand right that drops Gordon like a sack of potatoes! Turpin dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
