Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Renaldo Furth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Dexter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dexter rushes Furth and presses him up against the cage.
Furth has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Dexter avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Furth looking to stall.
Dexter is working for takedown but Furth is calmly controlling the position for now.

Furth breaks the clinch.
Dexter throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Furth looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dexter is fending him off so far but Furth persists. Nope, Dexter circles away and we're back to standing.
Dexter fails to land the takedown.

Dexter gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Dexter is trying to trip Furth. He has hold of a leg but Furth is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Dexter persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Dexter's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Dexter drops back looking for a leg! Furth is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Furth manages to kick Dexter off! Dexter jumps back into Furth's guard.
Dexter tries to stand but Furth is controlling from the bottom.
Furth is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Furth could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Furth throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Furth looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Dexter puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Furth is trying to maintain the position but Dexter is very close to passing his half guard.
Dexter is keen to just control but Furth is a slippery customer.
Dexter perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
It looks like Dexter might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Furth is looking to improve his position.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mike Dexter.
Dexter shoots in for a takedown but Furth shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Renaldo Furth has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Dexter.
Furth moves in looking to clinch but Dexter pushes him off.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dexter is defended easily by Furth.

Furth drops back looking for a leg! Dexter is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dexter manages to kick Furth off! Furth jumps back into Dexter's guard.

A close round but Mike Dexter will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Furth fails to land with a series of punches.
Dexter goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Furth lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dexter circles away quickly and effectively.
Dexter dives in and grabs Furth's left leg, looking for a takedown. Furth pushes down on Dexter's head and hops out.
Dexter tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Furth manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Furth fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dexter, pushing him back against the cage.
Dexter is trying to pull guard but Furth has him pressed against the cage.

Dexter is trying to maintain a safe position but Furth gets an underhook and turns Dexter into the cage.

Furth breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Furth keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Furth shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dexter as he avoids it easily.

Furth tries to close the distance and clinch but Dexter swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Furth closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Dexter quickly recovers to half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Furth is keen to just control but Dexter is a slippery customer.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Furth postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Dexter to stand up.
Renaldo Furth is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Dexter shoots in looking for a takedown. Furth tries to sprawl out of it but Dexter keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Furth manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Furth lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Furth stands and steps away. Dexter gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dexter jumps guard but Furth stands there with Dexter around his waist. Dexter gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Furth stands and steps away. Dexter gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Furth looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

and Furth counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Dexter is trying to push Furth away but Furth has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Furth breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dexter tries to clinch up.
Dexter stalks Furth and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Furth's face. Furth staggers backwards, shaken.
Dexter avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Furth counters with a three punch combo that has Dexter backing up. Dexter nods at Furth to acknowledge the strikes.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Renaldo Furth.
I think Furth has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
