Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bunk James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Maupin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bunk James! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, George Maupin! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, John Mangel and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! James fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Maupin moves in looking to clinch but James pushes him off. A shot to the liver by James. Beautiful body shot. Maupin slaps away a takedown attempt from James, before circling back to the center of the mat. James has Maupin up against the cage in a clinch.
James breaks from the clinch.
Horrible takedown by James or perhaps it was just good defense by Maupin which made him look bad. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bunk James. That's going to take a lot out of him. James fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Maupin takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
James pushes Maupin up against the cage in a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maupin changes levels and goes for a takedown here. James fights it off and pushes away nicely.

James lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Maupin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. James manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Maupin manages to get himself to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. James postures up in Maupin's guard and throws a big left but Maupin blocks it. James slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Maupin looking to control.

That's three minutes gone in the round. James in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. James slips nicely into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. James is working for a kimura but Maupin is defending it quite comfortably.

That's four minutes gone in the round. James content to control rather than advance. James's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Maupin stuffs the takedown. Maupin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Maupin wants it to stay on the feet. James tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Maupin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bunk James dominated that round. That's time! James's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Maupin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but James avoids it really well and circles away. Maupin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. James fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Maupin to the ground. James is now in Maupin's guard. James gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Bunk James is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. James tries to score a power double leg takedown but Maupin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten James somewhat. Maupin is breathing heavily. James shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Maupin pinned against the cage. Maupin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's one minute gone in the round. James moves into range and clinches up with Maupin. James is working for takedown but Maupin is calmly controlling the position for now. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bunk James. That's going to take a lot out of him. James drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Maupin gets the underhooks and prevents it.
James breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. James tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Maupin counters with a nice kick to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maupin misses with a jab, cross combination.
James gets in close and instigates a clinch. James gets control of Maupin's arms and successfully pulls guard. James will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Maupin gets to his feet - James follows without any prompting. James throws a head kick that half lands.
James shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. James gets a clinch. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Maupin goes for a takedown attempt but James pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

James throws a sloppy head kick and Maupin moves out of range easily. Maupin shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. A head kick from James lands but Maupin takes it in his stride. James shoots for a takedown but Maupin saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Maupin tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. James manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. James takes the fight into the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Maupin misses with a knee to the head. James blocks an elbow strike from Maupin.

James throws a half hearted mid kick. James shoots in for a double leg but Maupin sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Maupin gets tackled into the cage by James. James maintains the clinch. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Maupin looking to throw knees to the head but James is blocking nicely.

Maupin leaves James with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Maupin gets tackled into the cage by James. James maintains the clinch. James lands a left hand that snaps the head of Maupin backwards. James's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Maupin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Maupin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says James as he avoids it easily. James throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Maupin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Some wild striking there from Maupin.

Maupin is trying to push James away but James has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Maupin throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but James blocks it with crossed arms. James manages to break the clinch.

James pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Maupin back to the cage. James follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. James dodges the punch combination from Maupin.
George Maupin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Bunk James is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Maupin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around James's waist but James gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Maupin off to one side.
And that's the end of the fight! Bunk James showed his dominance in that final round. Well James has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
