Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Baby Blue!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
11 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lewis McLay!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Hugh Johnson and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McLay throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
McLay looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
McLay gets tackled into the cage by Blue. Blue maintains the clinch.
McLay looking to throw knees to the head but Blue is blocking nicely.
Blue has McLay pushed against the cage.
Blue wants to break the clinch but can't.
Blue is trying to break free.
Blue has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Blue tries to break free but McLay pushes him back against the cage.
Blue wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Blue pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lewis McLay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McLay will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
McLay is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's one minute gone in the round.
McLay shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Blue pinned against the cage. Blue gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Blue.
Blue decides to stand back up.
Blue moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
A punch combination from Blue misses.
Blue throws a left that rocks McLay and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Blue dives into side control, looking to finish! Can McLay regain composure!
McLay is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Blue decides to stand up, so the ref orders McLay to his feet.
McLay is still on wobbly legs! Can Blue finish him?
Blue connects with a superb combination that knocks McLay out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Blue before he can land any more shots to the unconscious McLay!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Baby Blue!
