Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson comes to the cage accompanied by Lonely road of faith. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Thompson!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson slips a jab and a cross from Jackson.
Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch but Thompson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jackson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Thompson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jackson is in Thompson's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Jackson wants to stand and escape but instead Thompson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Thompson stands and steps away. Jackson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Thompson tries a head kick but it misses.
Thompson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jackson tries to bum rush Thompson with a series of wild strikes but Thompson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Jackson looks to land a combination. Thompson sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Mike Thompson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thompson throws a lazy head kick
and Jackson counters with a nice right hand that sends Thompson toppling to the canvas! Thompson scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Jackson finish him?!
Thompson is rocked!
It looks like Mike Thompson has been cut.
Thompson throws a sloppy head kick and Jackson moves out of range easily.
Thompson is still on wobbly legs! Can Jackson finish him?
Jackson connects with a stiff jab that staggers Thompson - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jim Jackson!
After winning the bout, Jim Jackson thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
