PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Fabio Ceroni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Helio Machado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machado comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Mindless Self Indulgence - Bitches kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Leandro Rodrigues and Thiago Cunha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ceroni lands a nice leg kick that just misses Machado's sensitive parts.
Machado looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Ceroni drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Machado sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Machado tries to get to full guard but Ceroni has control of the leg.
Ceroni tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Machado.
Ceroni trying to control from half guard but Machado is working away.

Machado is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Ceroni pulls his head out easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Machado is looking for a sweep. Ceroni is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Machado is pressing down on Ceroni's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Machado manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ceroni manages to get himself to full guard.
Ceroni throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Machado wants to pass the guard but Ceroni is keeping the position.

Machado postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ceroni is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Machado, into his guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Ceroni stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Machado swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Machado wants to sweep but no luck.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Machado is on top in guard.
Machado looks gassed!
Ceroni is trying to keep Machado in close.
Machado looking to pass the guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Machado won't allow Ceroni to get back to his feet.
Ceroni is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Ceroni is working hard here to advance position.

Ceroni manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Ceroni scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Machado tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Machado manages to work his way to half guard, despite Ceroni's best efforts.
Machado works his way to full guard. Good work.
Machado is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Ceroni is looking to stand up but Machado won't let him.

Ceroni decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Machado forces Ceroni back against the cage and clinches.

Machado jumps into guard, dragging Ceroni to the mat.
Ceroni trying to control the position from guard on top but Machado is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Machado is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Machado looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Ceroni has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Machado is working away from the top position though.

Machado is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ceroni defends it well.
Ceroni wants to get back to his feet.

Machado is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Ceroni is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
