PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Curtis Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Pacheco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pacheco has chosen HIGHWAY TO HELL as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Curtis Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gabriel Pacheco!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Felipe Paraventi and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pacheco wants to clinch.
Jackson leaves Pacheco with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Pacheco fails with the takedown.
Pacheco moves in looking to clinch but Jackson pushes him off.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown but Pacheco shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jackson doesn't manage to clinch there - Pacheco circles away.
Horrible takedown by Jackson or perhaps it was just good defense by Pacheco which made him look bad.
Pacheco shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jackson sprawls well. Jackson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pacheco gets slowly back to his feet.
Curtis Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gabriel Pacheco.
Jackson shoots and misses

and Pacheco counters with a shoot takedown. Jackson fights it but they end up in guard.
Pacheco slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jackson is working an open guard so Pacheco takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Jackson closes the distance and clinches up with Pacheco, looking for a takedown. Jackson pushes Pacheco against the cage but Pacheco circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Pacheco tries to clinch up but Jackson circles away and keeps his distance.
Pacheco thows a leg kick but Jackson checks it

and Jackson counters with a shoot takedown. Pacheco fights it but they end up in guard.
Pacheco looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Pacheco wants to get back to his feet but Jackson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Jackson wants to stand but Pacheco has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Jackson looking to pass the guard.

Pacheco pushes Jackson off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jackson shoots in but no luck this time.
Jackson is breathing heavily.
Jackson keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Pacheco.
Jackson stuffs the takedown.

Pacheco gets caught flat footed, as Jackson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Pacheco working for a triangle but Jackson defends it easily.
Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pacheco swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jackson trying to control but Pacheco is working from the bottom.
Jackson tries to free his leg and advance position but Pacheco is retaining full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Jackson is sitting in close to Pacheco's body. Pacheco has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Jackson is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Jackson is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Pacheco.
