The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emelyanenko works Gromov's body with a nice hook.

Emelyanenko escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Emelyanenko tries to bum rush Gromov with a series of wild strikes but Gromov uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Emelyanenko slaps away a takedown attempt from Gromov, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Gromov shoots for a double leg takedown but Emelyanenko sprawls well. He's pushed Gromov's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Horrible takedown by Gromov or perhaps it was just good defense by Emelyanenko which made him look bad.

Gromov gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Emelyanenko gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
