The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Huxley pivots, looking for a leg kick but Cruz is out of range and Huxley settles back down.
Dima Huxley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Huxley looks to clinch
and Cruz counters with a nice uppercut.
Huxley closes the distance looking to clinch
and Cruz cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Cruz throws a hook but Huxley blocks it.
Huxley walks into a stiff left hand from Cruz.

It looks like Dima Huxley has been cut.

Huxley darts in and clinches Cruz up against the cage.
Huxley throws a head punch that misses.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cruz lands a right hand that snaps the head of Huxley backwards.
Cruz blocks an elbow strike from Huxley.
Huxley swings wildly with an uppercut but Cruz uses good head movement to avoid it.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Huxley.
Huxley missing with knees to the body.
Huxley lands an elbow inside that Cruz shrugs off.
Cruz lands a body punch.
Huxley looking to throw knees to the head but Cruz is blocking nicely.
Nice elbow from Cruz.

Cruz manages to pull guard.

Huxley gets to his feet. Cruz looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Huxley on the wrong end of a nice hook.

That has opened up Dima Huxley's cut even more.
Cruz scores with a jab to the head.
Huxley looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Huxley closes the distance but Cruz moves to the side
and Cruz counters with a right hand to the body.
Huxley moves in looking to clinch but Cruz pushes him off.
Huxley tries to clinch
and Huxley takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Huxley walks into a left hand.

Huxley clinches with his opponent.
Cruz pushes Huxley against the cage. Cruz is working some dirty boxing. Cruz pushes off with a quick right hook! Huxley goes down! Huxley tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Cruz moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tiger Cruz!
