PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Starks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Francis Brizuela (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Starks kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Bring Da Ruckus. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Brizuela finds it's way through Starks's defenses.

It looks like Tony Starks has been cut.
Brizuela ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Starks moves away.
Brizuela darts in trying to clinch
enabling Starks to counter with a crisp jab.
Starks uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Brizuela.
Brizuela fails with an attempt to clinch.
Starks throws a hook but Brizuela blocks it.

Brizuela has Starks up against the cage in a clinch.
Starks is trying to force a seperation but Brizuela has the dominant position.
Brizuela lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Brizuela unloads a knee to the mid-section. Starks lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Starks tries to break free but Brizuela pushes him back against the cage.

Starks has had enough of the clinch but Brizuela keeps him there for the moment.
Starks throws a punch but it's blocked by Brizuela.

Starks works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Starks throws a big right hand that misses.
Brizuela has his hands on Starks's head, controlling the position.
Starks throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brizuela is pulling down on Starks's head. It's preventing any offense from Starks, at least for the moment.

Starks throws the left hand but Brizuela avoids the punch easily.

Brizuela is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Starks's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Starks thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Starks trying to control the action but Brizuela is working from the bottom.
Brizuela is looking for a sweep. Starks is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Starks throwing shots but Brizuela is blocking nicely.

Brizuela makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Brizuela.
Brizuela pulls Starks in to control the position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Brizuela is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Starks tries to get to full guard but Brizuela has control of the leg.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Starks is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Brizuela connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Starks! He's out on his feet! Brizuela rushes in and drops Starks with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
