Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Reginald Francis Colon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Terry Picket ! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Glass and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Picket tries to clinch up but Francis Colon circles away and keeps his distance. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Picket wants to clinch up but Francis Colon keeps it at a distance. Francis Colon has Picket up against the ropes in a clinch.
Francis Colon stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Picket is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the ropes enables Francis Colon to keep the fight standing. Picket gets control of Francis Colon's arms and successfully pulls guard. Picket will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Francis Colon is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Picket has a closed guard, preventing Francis Colon from standing up. Francis Colon has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Reginald Francis Colon just wasn't active enough. Picket wants to clinch and Francis Colon moves into the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Francis Colon lands a knee to the head.
Picket jumps guard but Francis Colon turns him against the ropes and keeps the fight standing. Francis Colon lands an elbow inside that Picket shrugs off. Francis Colon lands a shot to the body. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Francis Colon obliges. Picket takes an elbow to the forehead. Francis Colon gets through Picket 's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Francis Colon lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Picket tries to pull guard but Francis Colon holds him up against the ropes and eventually Picket drops back down to his feet.
Reginald Francis Colon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Terry Picket . Picket looks gassed! Francis Colon lands a good knee to the midsection. Picket won't want to take too many of those. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A left hand lands to the body for Francis Colon.
Francis Colon comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Picket is rocked!
It looks like Terry Picket has been cut. Francis Colon lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Picket is still on wobbly legs! Can Francis Colon finish him? Francis Colon has Picket pressed against the ropes. He pushes Picket back and as he springs towards him off the ropes, Francis Colon throws a beautiful elbow that sends Picket crashing to the floor! Francis Colon piles on the pressure with more strikes! Picket is flailing away but he's not defending himself and the referee steps in to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Reginald Francis Colon! Reginald Francis Colon decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
