Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randy Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Balis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Balis is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Still Unbroken. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randy Liddell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Balis! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Balis looks for a takedown but Liddell sprawls well. Horrible takedown by Balis or perhaps it was just good defense by Liddell which made him look bad. Balis fails with the takedown. Randy Liddell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Balis. Liddell keeps the fight on the outside. Liddell pushes Balis up against the cage in a clinch. Liddell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Liddell drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Balis is trying to control Liddell's posture but Liddell avoids it. Balis is pushing Liddell's head away, looking to escape. Liddell manages to hold on to the position though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Liddell stands up and beckons Balis to his feet. Liddell tries to bum rush Balis with a series of wild strikes but Balis uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Balis shoots in but no luck this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Liddell thuds his right hand into Balis's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Liddell fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Balis, pushing him back against the cage. Liddell breaks from the clinch.
Balis throws a series of punches but Liddell avoids them all with ease. Balis looks gassed! Balis scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Liddell throws out a token jab with nothing on it. A head kick from Liddell lands but Balis takes it in his stride.
Balis is rocked! Liddell throws a head kick but Balis moves out of range.
Balis is still on wobbly legs! Can Liddell finish him? Liddell misses with a combination
and Balis counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Balis seems to have recovered his senses. Liddell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Balis ducks under a wild hook from Liddell. Liddell gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Balis manages to break the clinch.

Balis steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Liddell. Liddell keeps the fight on the outside.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Liddell is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Balis. Liddell misses with a double jab
and Balis counters with a series of strikes. Liddell will be more careful next time no doubt. Balis tries to clinch up but Liddell circles away and keeps his distance. Liddell throws a head kick but Balis moves out of range.

Liddell closes this distance looking for a takedown but Balis circles away. Liddell takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Liddell circles away from the clinch attempt and Liddell counters with a takedown into side control. Liddell wants to lay and pray for a moment but Balis keeps working. Balis is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Balis tries to escape but Liddell is in control. Check out the look on Liddell's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Liddell working the head with strikes. Balis tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Liddell is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Balis has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Balis breaks Liddell's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Balis looking to pass the guard. Liddell is working an open guard so Balis takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Liddell misses with a hook. Balis has Liddell up against the cage in a clinch.
Liddell escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Liddell misses with an attempted mid kick.
Liddell tries for a takedown but Balis circles away easily and Balis counters with a three punch combo that has Liddell backing up. Liddell nods at Balis to acknowledge the strikes. Balis throws a nice looking combination but Liddell bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Balis is looking to clinch but Liddell is avoiding it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Liddell keeps the fight on the outside. Balis tries to clinch but Liddell is having none of it. Balis tries to clinch but Liddell is having none of it. Liddell fails in his attempt to clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Randy Liddell will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!

Liddell feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Balis working a defensive guard here.
Liddell won't allow Balis to get back to his feet. Balis trying to strike off his back.
Liddell works over Balis with some ground and pound from guard. Liddell scoring with punches to the head and body. Balis wants to stand and escape but Liddell is having none of it. Liddell showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Liddell distracts Balis with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Liddell shoots in looking for a takedown. Balis tries to sprawl out of it but Liddell keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Balis manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. The fight stays on the outside here - Balis looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Randy Liddell is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Liddell throws a combination that misses and Balis counters with a shoot takedown. Liddell fights it but they end up in guard. Balis is fighting to break Liddell's control of his arms but Liddell is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Balis gets to his feet - Liddell follows without any prompting. Balis scores with a one two! Liddell had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Liddell waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Balis. Balis wants to clinch. Liddell just misses with a punch to the body.

Liddell is rocked! Balis gets in close and instigates a clinch. Oh Liddell is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Liddell wants to break free but Balis has control.
Balis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Liddell throws a head kick but Balis moves out of range.
A head kick by Balis - that's a beauty! Liddell is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Balis can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
