PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Skenja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bones Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Skenja comes into the arena with i against i blaring out of the sound system. Norris has chosen Vicarious as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Fedor Skenja!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bones Norris!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Colin Fray and Chris Saunders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skenja will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Skenja closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Norris quickly recovers to half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Skenja is looking to advance position but Norris won't allow it.
Skenja scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Norris wants to control but Skenja is keeping busy.
Skenja looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Skenja looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Norris with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Skenja connects with a nice short shot to Norris's temple.
Skenja lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Skenja is controlling the pace.
Skenja stops Norris from getting back to his feet.

Skenja slips a nice elbow through Norris's hands, connecting with Norris's forehead.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Skenja stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Skenja moves into the clinch.
Skenja wants a takedown.
Norris lands a nice elbow.
Skenja is trying to break the clinch but Norris is controlling him.
Skenja lands a left hand.
Skenja pushes Norris back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Norris looks gassed!
Skenja lands with a short punch from the clinch.
A shot in the inside from Skenja.
Skenja has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Norris after a bit of a struggle.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Skenja breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Skenja lands a big right hook! Norris looks hurt but is still standing! Skenja lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Norris falls down and Skenja dives in with a huge hammer fist! Norris's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Skenja runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Fedor Skenja!
After winning the bout, Fedor Skenja thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
