PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Meat Machine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Marak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marak has chosen Templars of Steele - Hammer Fall as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Meat Machine! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Max Marak! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marak gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Machine.
It looks like Max Marak has been cut. Machine ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Marak moves away. Machine is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Marak. Machine scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Marak fails to land the takedown. Machine waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Marak. Marak attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Machine stuffs the takedown. Marak shoots in and bounces Machine off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Machine wants to get back to his feet but Marak is in a dominant position and won't allow it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Machine trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Marak throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Marak wants to pass the guard but Machine is keeping the position. Machine can't keep his opponent in guard - Marak advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Marak prevents Machine from standing back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Machine doesn't manage to clinch there - Marak circles away.
Machine cracks Marak with a good jab.
Marak is rocked! Max Marak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Machine fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Marak square on the jaw! Damn, Marak is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Meat Machine!
