Coming up we have a featherweight kickboxing rules bout between Ping Pong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Claude Van Halen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Ren Mimura and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crunch! Pong slams his shin into Van Halen's torso.
Van Halen needs to keep his hands up - Pong had a free shot at his head there.
Pong displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Van Halen throws out the jab.
Van Halen cracks Pong with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Van Halen throws a leg kick that is checked
and Pong counters with a nice body shot.
Pong scores with a crisp jab that stopped Van Halen in his tracks.
Pong tries to close the distance and clinch but Van Halen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Pong lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Van Halen has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Van Halen there as he acknowledges the shot.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Van Halen does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Pong uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Van Halen has time to react.
Van Halen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Pong looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Pong throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Van Halen stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Pong throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Van Halen seems to have recovered his senses.

and Pong cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pong lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
