Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Brett Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and mike choppra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burns comes into the arena with Nas - Street Dreams blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Brett Burns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, mike choppra!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Paul Tew and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Burns.

Burns feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Burns has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Burns preventing the sweep.
Burns trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now choppra is on top in guard.

choppra thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Burns knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for choppra on the ground.
Burns has control of choppra's left arm, preventing choppra from doing any damage.
Burns looking for a sweep. Not yet Burns, not yet.
Burns is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
choppra looking to pass the guard.
choppra trying to control but Burns is working from the bottom.

choppra pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Burns is keeping the position for now.
choppra postures up and lands a big shot to Burns's brow.
choppra wanted to stand there but Burns had control of the position.
choppra trying to control but Burns is working from the bottom.
Burns tries to land a sweep but no joy.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
choppra trying to control the position from guard on top but Burns is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Burns wants to sweep but no luck.
Burns has momentary wrist control but choppra slips an elbow through the middle.
choppra wants to pass the guard but Burns is keeping the position.
Burns is trying to keep choppra in close.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Burns swats away the attempt to clinch by choppra.
choppra misses with a takedown attempt

so Burns counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Burns is breathing heavily.
Burns looking to pass the guard.
choppra is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Burns content to stall in guard here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Burns seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down choppra for as long as he can get away with.
choppra controls Burns momentarily but Burns frees himself.
choppra looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
choppra lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Burns!
choppra can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Burns is looking to escape.
choppra might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Burns kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Burns tries to reverse the position but choppra maintains control.
choppra trying to control but Burns is having none of it.
choppra landing shots from mount.
Burns tries to hold on but choppra pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brett Burns dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

choppra is trying to maintain the position but Burns is very close to passing his half guard.

choppra looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Burns is thwarting choppra's attempts to control the position.
Burns performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Burns trying to pass the guard but choppra defending well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Burns slows the pace down in half guard.

choppra works his way to full guard. Good work.
choppra controls Burns momentarily but Burns frees himself.
Burns postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
choppra wants to sweep but no luck.
choppra trying to keep a closed guard but Burns is proving a slippery customer.
choppra wants to control the position but Burns says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Despite being in the dominant position, mike choppra just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

choppra feints and as Burns raises his hands in defense, choppra changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Burns has momentary wrist control but choppra slips an elbow through the middle.
choppra advances to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

choppra has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Burns defend it? choppra steps over the head and cranks it - Burns is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for choppra!
