Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mike Winnie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derek McCullough (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Winnie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Derek McCullough!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCullough fails to land the takedown.
McCullough looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Winnie is fending him off so far but McCullough persists. Nope, Winnie circles away and we're back to standing.
Winnie on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by McCullough. McCullough obviously looking to wear him down.

Winnie tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but McCullough swivels and escapes.
Derek McCullough seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Winnie with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Winnie's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
McCullough stuffs the takedown attempt from Winnie. Winnie gets slowly back to his feet.

McCullough pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
McCullough stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and McCullough wants it to stay on the feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
McCullough shoots in for a takedown but Winnie shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
McCullough throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Winnie's waist but Winnie gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McCullough off to one side.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Derek McCullough will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



McCullough clinches with his opponent.
Winnie has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Winnie has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. McCullough avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Winnie tries to land knees in the clinch but McCullough avoids the damage to the body.

McCullough breaks from the clinch.
McCullough throws a low kick, looking for Winnie's leg but Winnie calmly moves out of range.

Winnie fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with McCullough, pushing him back against the cage.

McCullough has Winnie pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Winnie manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
McCullough tries to pull guard but Winnie holds him up against the cage and eventually McCullough drops back down to his feet.
McCullough misses with some punches.

Winnie is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Winnie's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

McCullough manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

McCullough keeping moving, preventing Winnie from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McCullough escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Winnie gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Winnie prevents McCullough from getting back to his feet.
Winnie trying to control the position from guard on top but McCullough is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
McCullough looking for a sweep. Not yet McCullough, not yet.

McCullough is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Winnie defends well.

McCullough tries to strike from the bottom.

McCullough has his foot on Winnie's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Winnie works his way back into a safe position though.
McCullough is breathing heavily.

Winnie loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Winnie pushes down on McCullough's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Winnie is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. McCullough doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Winnie.

Winnie is looking for a kimura but McCullough is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Winnie to get the leverage.

McCullough tries to roll over but Winnie keeps him under control.
Winnie wants to take a breather but McCullough is having none of it.
McCullough is trying to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Derek McCullough will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

McCullough shoots in looking for a takedown but Winnie manages to keep the fight standing, pushing McCullough's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Derek McCullough is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Winnie leaves McCullough with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
