The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saito tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Santiago feints a jab promting Saito to slip. Santiago then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Saito slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
It looks like Iwao Saito has been cut.
Santiago Santiago seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Santiago ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Santiago buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Saito looks gassed!
Santiago jabs Saito right on the nose. Saito blinks but takes it well.
Santiago throws a nice head kick!
Santiago wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Santiago drops Saito with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Saito looks back up at him and smiles so Santiago waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Saito is rocked!
Saito is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Santiago doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Saito crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Saito's bad books for that mishap!
