PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daigon Kins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Jenkins might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to 3 little pigs. Kins is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: N.O.S. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jeremy Jenkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Daigon Kins!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Russell Pearce and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jenkins throws a quick inside leg kick.
Kins moves in looking to clinch but Jenkins pushes him off.
Kins closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jenkins circles away.
Kins displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jenkins.
Jenkins throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kins.
Kins dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Kins connects with a body shot that sends Jenkins's belly button to the back.
Jenkins changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kins tries to avoid it but Jenkins manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kins to the ground. Kins escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kins tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Jenkins manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kins misses with a wild body shot.
Kins connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Jenkins momentarily.
Jenkins throws a head kick but Kins moves out of range.
Kins lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Jenkins at a distance.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jenkins misses with an attempted mid kick.
Jenkins circles away from the clinch attempt
and Jenkins counters with a two punch combo.
Kins connects with a body shot that sends Jenkins's belly button to the back.
Jenkins throws a low kick but Kins moves out of range easily.
Kins slips a straight right by Jenkins.
Kins lands with an uppercut that bounces Jenkins off the cage and back into range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kins lands a jab to the nose.
Jenkins looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeremy Jenkins. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jenkins misses with an uppercut. Kins saw that one coming.
Kins tries to clinch but Jenkins is having none of it.
Jenkins misses with a head kick.
Kins scores with a crisp jab that stopped Jenkins in his tracks.
Kins fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Kins doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Kins wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Kins darts in and clinches Jenkins up against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kins tries for a takedown. No joy.
Kins throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Kins gets through Jenkins's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Jenkins trying to land knees to the body.

Kins breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
No joy there for Kins, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The fighters circling - Jenkins throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Kins connects with a nice looking jab.

Kins closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kins scores with a shot to the side of Jenkins's head.
Kins tries to circle away but Jenkins has him pinned against the cage.
A right handed body shot lands from Kins.
Kins can't get the takedown.
Kins is looking to take this one to the mat.
Kins utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Jenkins using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Kins has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Kins misses with an elbow strike.

Kins breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kins wants to clinch up but Jenkins keeps it at a distance.
Kins fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Kins getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Jenkins. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Kins avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Kins lands a two punch combo.


Jenkins is rocked!
A right-left combo lands from Kins.
Oh Jenkins is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Kins has closed the distance and engaged Jenkins in a clinch.

Kins tightens his grip and picks Jenkins up, before dumping him to the ground. Jenkins manages to land in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kins with a nice head shot there.
Kins prevents Jenkins from getting back to his feet.
Kins working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kins forces his way into half guard.
Jenkins is breathing heavily.
Kins trying to control from half guard but Jenkins is working away.
Kins looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jenkins with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Kins lands a big elbow - Jenkins is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Kins!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Daigon Kins!
In his post fight interview, Daigon Kins started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
