PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rico swuave (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Balinko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
swuave lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
swuave shoots in for a double leg but Balinko sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Balinko closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
swuave is trying to improve his position.

Balinko stands up and beckons swuave to his feet.

and Balinko counters with a shoot takedown. swuave fights it but they end up in guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Balinko takes the fight into the clinch.

Balinko has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed swuave clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
swuave throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Balinko's waist but Balinko gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing swuave off to one side.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
It looks like Balinko is going to stand back up.

Balinko throws a leg kick but swuave sees it coming and moves out of range.

Balinko fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. swuave sprawls well initially but Balinko persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Balinko goes for a takedown attempt but swuave pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Balinko shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Balinko showed some decent athleticism there.

swuave is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Balinko pulls his head out easily.
