The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ballswick shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Paulista napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Paulista sneaks back into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ballswick is looking for a kimura but Paulista is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ballswick to get the leverage.
Ballswick is trying for a kimura here. Paulista looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Ballswick wins by kimura!
