PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Digital (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Prevost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Digital comes to the cage accompanied by Wu-Tang Clan - Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nuthing Ta F'Wit . Bobby Digital has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bobby Digital!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Prevost!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Prevost tries to keep at a distance but Digital has taken the fight into the clinch.
Prevost is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
A right handed body shot lands from Digital.

Digital ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Digital no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Prevost working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Digital has his foot on Prevost's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Prevost works his way back into a safe position though.
Prevost preventing the sweep.
Digital has Prevost pulled in close to control his posture.
Prevost throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Digital works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Digital pulls Prevost in close to his closed guard and prevents Prevost from doing any damage or advancing position.
Prevost wants to stand and escape but instead Digital has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Digital gets to his feet. Prevost looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Prevost tries a head kick but it misses.
Digital scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Digital takes the fight into the clinch.

Digital has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Prevost uses from the top position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Prevost trying to control but Digital is working from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Digital is on top in guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Digital accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Prevost being controlled here, momentarily.
Prevost working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Digital.
Prevost wants to stand and escape but Digital is having none of it.
Digital sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Bobby Digital has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Digital lands a slapping body shot.
Prevost looks winded!
Prevost throws a series of punches but Digital moves out of range.
Digital lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Digital clinches.

Digital escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Digital rushes Prevost and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Digital works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Digital digs a right hand underneath Prevost's ribcage. Prevost let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Digital lands an elbow that stopped Prevost in his tracks for a moment.

Digital pulls guard successfully.
Digital manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Prevost manages to get himself to full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Digital is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Digital has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Digital stays in close to Prevost's body and controls the position.
Digital forces his way into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Digital frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Prevost is squirming around, avoiding Digital's attempts to control the action.

Digital working for a submission but Prevost is keeping him at bay.
Digital is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Prevost can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Digital lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Digital lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.


Prevost is rocked!
Digital sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Digital drops a big elbow. That's hurt Prevost! More shots from Digital and the ref steps in! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bobby Digital!
Bobby Digital gave a mention to Hellraiser Fightgear ($10 and above) in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
