Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, James Small! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Hardy Kent! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Richard Clark and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Small connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Kent momentarily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Small. Kent does a little dance to reset his feet. Small just misses with a punch to the body.
Small throws out a powerful jab. Small with a nice cross. The fighters circling - Small throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Small misses with an uppercut. Kent saw that one coming. Small bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Small misses the jab. Small digs a good body shot into Kent's ribs. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Small keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Small lands a left and a right that send Kent crashing to the mat, dazed. Small thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Kent is rocked! A big right from Kent misses. Kent is still on wobbly legs! Can Small finish him? Small connects with a body shot. Small cracks Kent with a right hand to the side of the head. Kent is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Kent takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Small takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Kent misses with an uppercut. James Small seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Small bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kent's head backwards. Kent misses the jab. Kent motions for Small to come forward. Kent throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Small cracks Kent with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Kent looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Small lands the left hand. Jab by Small. Small jabs Kent to the body, keeping him at a distance. Kent walks into a stiff left hand from Small. Kent closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kent lands in his opponent's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kent is posturing up here but Small has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Kent tries to roll out but it's too tight and Kent has to tap! Slick submission there by Small!
