Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gabe Segre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ranu Tedja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gabe Segre! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ranu Tedja! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Alyssa Summers and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Segre misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Tedja is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Segre throws a body kick that misses. Tedja shoots in looking for a takedown but Segre manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tedja's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Segre shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tedja but Tedja pushes him off and we're back to square one. Segre could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Segre moves into the clinch. Segre pulls guard effortlessly. Tedja wanted to stand there but Segre had control of the position. Segre is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Segre is trying to break the clinch but Tedja is controlling him. Tedja is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Segre drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Tedja gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gabe Segre. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tedja jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Segre walks away with a smile on his face. Tedja gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Tedja connects with a high kick. Tedja shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Segre pinned against the cage. Segre gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Segre rushes Tedja and presses him up against the cage. Segre jumps into guard, dragging Tedja to the mat.
Tedja trying to control but Segre is working from the bottom. Tedja passes into half guard. Segre knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tedja on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tedja wants to work for an arm triangle but Segre is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Tedja looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Segre is looking for a sweep. Tedja is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Tedja wants to work for an arm triangle but Segre is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Segre wants to improve his position but Tedja is controlling well.

Tedja tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Segre. Tedja trying to control from Segre's half guard. Segre has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Segre wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Gabe Segre just wasn't active enough. Segre circles away from the clinch attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tedja leaves Segre with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Segre closes the distance and pushes Tedja back into the cage. Tedja keeps control of Segre as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Tedja tries to stall but Segre uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Segre wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Tedja has him pressed against the cage. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Segre has had enough of the clinch but Tedja keeps him there for the moment. Tedja with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Tedja gets a trip takedown into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Gabe Segre will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Tedja throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Segre. Tedja tries for a takedown but Segre sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Tedja blocks a head kick by Segre.
Tedja closes the distance but Segre moves to the side and Segre counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Segre is looking to land body kicks. Segre tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tedja sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Segre somewhat. Tedja shoots in but no luck this time. Tedja throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Segre.
That's one minute gone in the round. Segre shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Tedja shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Segre but Segre pushes him off and we're back to square one. Gabe Segre has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ranu Tedja. Tedja is breathing heavily. Segre swinging wildly here.
Tedja fails with the takedown. Segre shoots for a takedown but Tedja saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Tedja tries to avoid it but Segre manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tedja to the ground. Tedja escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Segre throws a sloppy head kick and Tedja moves out of range easily. Tedja rushes Segre and presses him up against the cage. Tedja has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Segre uses from the top position. Segre wants to get up but he can't break Tedja's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Tedja keeping moving, preventing Segre from controlling successfully.
Gabe Segre has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Tedja dives in and scores a takedown into Segre's guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Tedja trying to stand up but can't free himself from Segre's guard. Segre controlling the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tedja thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Ranu Tedja has got the better of the ground game so far. Tedja avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Tedja drops back, looking for a kneebar! Segre looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Segre looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Segre! Segre looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Segre controlling from side mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Ranu Tedja will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
