Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Renan Dener (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dener comes into the arena with Balada blaring out of the sound system. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Eddie Farnsworth and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dener shoots for a takedown but Johnson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Johnson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Dener.
Johnson leaves Dener with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Renan Dener. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dener walks into a stiff left hand from Johnson.
Johnson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Johnson counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Dener thinking.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Dener tries to pass the half guard into mount. Johnson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Dener is trying to drag Johnson to the mat but Johnson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Dener's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Johnson throws a right and a left that both miss.
Renan Dener is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Johnson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dener moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Johnson misses with a two punch combination.
Johnson scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Dener shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Dener showed some decent athleticism there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Dener perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Dener is looking to take a break and control but Johnson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Johnson tries to buck Dener off but Dener is having none of it.
Dener looks up at the clock and then as Johnson takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Dener smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Dener here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Johnson takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Dener scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Johnson to see if he's OK.
Dener is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Johnson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Johnson darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Dener's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Johnson before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
