Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Trefor Thomas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Sekhmakh Mubarak!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Atkins and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mubarak shoots in for a takedown but Thomas shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Thomas slaps away a takedown attempt from Mubarak, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Thomas!
Mubarak shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Thomas counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Trefor Thomas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sekhmakh Mubarak.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Thomas wants to get up but he can't break Mubarak's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Mubarak is working an open guard so Thomas takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Mubarak tries to close the distance and clinch but Thomas swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Thomas darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Thomas decides to return to a standing position.

Thomas shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Thomas was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Thomas can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mubarak is looking to escape.
Mubarak tries to hold on but Thomas pushes him away.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Thomas is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Mubarak throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Thomas.

Thomas wants to stand but Mubarak is controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Thomas manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Mubarak misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Thomas pulls Mubarak in close to his closed guard and prevents Mubarak from doing any damage or advancing position.

Mubarak throws a strike but Thomas rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Thomas stands and steps away. Mubarak gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Thomas stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Thomas avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Thomas has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Mubarak off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Thomas keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Mubarak throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Thomas's waist but Thomas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mubarak off to one side.

Thomas drives through and clinches with Mubarak against the cage.

Thomas jumps guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Thomas moves into range and clinches up with Mubarak.

Thomas breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Mubarak clinches.
Thomas gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Mubarak.
Mubarak wants a takedown but no success here.
Thomas looking to throw knees to the head but Mubarak is blocking nicely.

Thomas lands a big head kick that sends Mubarak tumbling to the mat! Thomas takes a step backwards and waves Mubarak back to his feet - he wants the finish!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mubarak shoots for a takedown but Thomas saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Thomas has hold of one of Mubarak's legs. Mubarak is fighting the takedown attempt but Thomas gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Thomas stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Thomas wants it to stay on the feet.
Mubarak shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Thomas sprawls well. Thomas wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mubarak gets slowly back to his feet.

Thomas decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Thomas changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mubarak tries to avoid it but Thomas manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mubarak to the ground. Mubarak escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Thomas shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Thomas stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Thomas avoids a punch combination nicely.
Thomas works over Mubarak's head and body with a nice combination.
Mubarak shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Thomas as he avoids it easily.
Thomas lets loose with a powerful body kick. Mubarak will feel that in the morning.

Mubarak shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Thomas but Thomas pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
