Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kenta Kobashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ed Butts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Kenta Kobashi has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Kenta Kobashi seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ed Butts! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Emerson Jorge and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kobashi closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Kobashi prevents Butts from improving his position. Butts is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Butts striking from half guard on the bottom. Kobashi is working for a kimura but Butts is defending it quite comfortably.
Kobashi moves into full mount! Butts won't be happy about that! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Butts can do anything to dispel that myth. Kobashi lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Butts is trying desperately to improve position. Kobashi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Butts flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Butts is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Kobashi passes Butts's left leg - he's now in half guard. Butts wants to improve his position but Kobashi is controlling well.
Kobashi drops an elbow to the side of Butts's head. Butts is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Butts is looking to escape. Kobashi controlling the pace. Ground and pound from Kobashi. Butts wants to get back to full guard. Kobashi is looking for a kimura but Butts is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kobashi to get the leverage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Butts shoots and misses and Kobashi counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kobashi. Kobashi stops a takedown attempt from Butts.

Kenta Kobashi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ed Butts. Kobashi has Butts pushed against the cage. Kobashi lands with a left to the head. Butts on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Kobashi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Kobashi misses with a takedown attempt and Butts counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Kobashi! Kobashi flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Butts shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Kobashi is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Butts scores with a couple of nice shots. Kobashi is looking to control Butts's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kobashi avoid being mounted? Kobashi is trying to get back to full guard. Butts lands with a punch from half guard. Kobashi on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Kobashi taking some punishment here, with Butts in his half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. And that's the end of the fight! Ed Butts comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Butts has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
