Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Edmundo Teixeira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Will Javis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Will Javis will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Will Javis! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Paulo Santos and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Javis uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Teixeira. Javis misses with a head kick.

Javis looks to score with a jab to the body but Teixeira is just out of range. Javis is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Javis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Teixeira circles away quickly and effectively. Teixeira checks a low kick from Javis. Javis misses with a series of wild punches.
Will Javis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice defenses there by Javis. Javis tries to clinch there but Teixeira circles away.

Javis wants to stand and escape but instead Teixeira has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Javis is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Teixeira postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Javis not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
