Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Berkut Rain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Baxter Stockman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Baxter Stockman! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Ivan Kurochkin and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stockman wants to clinch. Rain circles away from the clinch attempt and Rain counters with a nice double leg into side control. Stockman won't be happy with that. Stockman is looking to reverse the position. Stockman sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Rain thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Rain is thwarting Stockman's attempts to control the position. Rain blocks the strikes from Stockman.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rain is keen to just control but Stockman is a slippery customer. Rain not landing any meaningful shots this time. Stockman desperately trying to maintain half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Stockman wants to control but Rain is keeping busy.

Rain is taking a breather. Stockman says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Rain closes this distance looking for a takedown but Stockman circles away. Stockman fails in his attempt to clinch. Stockman tries to clinch there but Rain circles away.

Stockman shoots in looking for a takedown but Rain manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Stockman's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Rain closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Stockman quickly recovers to half guard. Stockman has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rain is working away from the top position though. Rain wants to control but Stockman is keeping him busy. Stockman wants to control but Rain is keeping busy.
Rain knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stockman on the ground. Stockman is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Stockman actively working from the bottom here. Stockman is trying to stand up here but Rain is controlling him well.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Stockman looking to control.
