The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donovan moves to clinch but Bowens breaks away
and Bowens counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Bowens.
Bowens stays in close to Donovan's body and controls the position.
Donovan throws his legs up looking for a submission but Bowens uses it to pass to side control.
Donovan tries to improve position but can't.
Bowens remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Bowens is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Donovan is trying to escape and Bowens transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Donovan is forced to tap! Nice work there by Bowens! Very nice indeed!
