PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Killer Bee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Metal Ripper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ripper has chosen Sabaton - Metal ripper as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bee leaves Ripper with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ripper looks to score with a jab to the body but Bee is just out of range.
Bee swinging wildly here.
Ripper walks into a straight right hand from Bee.
Ripper misses the body punch
and Bee makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Bee fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
An inside leg kick lands from Bee.

It looks like Killer Bee has been cut.
Ripper thows a body shot but no joy.

Bee uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ripper.

Bee feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Ripper's calf.

Killer Bee is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ripper misses with a takedown attempt - Bee sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

and Bee counters with a head kick. That will keep Ripper thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Ripper rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bee moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ripper. Bee does a little dance to reset his feet.

Bee needs to keep his hands up - Ripper had a free shot at his head there.
This has been an exciting period of action!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A low kick from Ripper is predictable there
and Bee counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
The fighters circle momentarily. Bee darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bee throws a looping overhand right but Ripper ducks down to avoid it.

and Bee counters with a nice low kick that buckles Ripper's knee momentarily.

Ripper looks for a takedown but Bee sprawls well.
Ripper looks for the body kick but Bee saw that one coming.
Ripper throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Bee gets caught flat footed, as Ripper shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Bee is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Ripper is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Ripper won't allow Bee to get back to his feet.
Ripper trying to control the position from guard on top but Bee is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Ripper pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bee is keeping the position for now.

Bee is defending against the submission attempts here by Ripper.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ripper connects with a nice short shot to Bee's temple.
Bee is trying to stand.
Ripper is looking to take a break and control but Bee is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Ripper is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bee doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ripper.

Bee is staying active underneath Ripper, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Bee looks like he's trying to stand up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ripper is looking to advance position but Bee won't allow it.
Ripper missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Ripper wants to free his trapped foot but Bee is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Ripper works his foot free and advances to mount.
