Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Forrest Griffin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stefan Lejion!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Hugh Johnson and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lejion doesn't manage to clinch there - Griffin circles away.

Lejion lands a big head kick that sends Griffin tumbling to the mat! Lejion takes a step backwards and waves Griffin back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Griffin is rocked!


It looks like Forrest Griffin has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Griffin slips a straight right by Lejion.
Oh Griffin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A head kick misses from Lejion.
Lejion wants to clinch

and Griffin counters with a single leg into guard. Lejion didn't expect that.
Griffin seems to have got his legs back now.
Griffin trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Griffin trying to control but Lejion is working from the bottom.

Griffin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Griffin drops back looking for a leg! Lejion is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lejion manages to kick Griffin off! Griffin jumps back into Lejion's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Griffin trying to control but Lejion is working from the bottom.
Griffin is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Lejion is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Griffin slips nicely into half guard.

Lejion is defending against the submission attempts here by Griffin.

Griffin wants to work for an arm triangle but Lejion is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Griffin takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Griffin missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Griffin seems to be looking for submissions.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Griffin is looking for a kimura but Lejion is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Griffin to get the leverage.
Griffin frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lejion is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Griffin looking to isolate an arm here. Lejion doesn't see it coming and as Griffin extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Griffin!
