Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thiago De Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Mallon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). De Santos comes into the arena with Drop the World blaring out of the sound system. Mallon has chosen im not afraid as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 12 - 1, fighting out of New York, Thiago De Santos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Mallon! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Reed Andrews and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mallon lunges at De Santos with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by De Santos's hand.
It looks like Thiago De Santos has been cut. Mallon keeps the fight on the outside. Mallon listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. This has been an exciting period of action! De Santos closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mallon is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, De Santos asserts his dominance and retains side control. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Mallon actively working from the bottom here. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. De Santos connects with a nice short shot to Mallon's temple. Mallon is looking to escape. De Santos is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. De Santos is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mallon defends it well. De Santos will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Mallon tries to roll over but De Santos keeps him under control.
That's one minute gone in the round. De Santos looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mallon with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Mallon is pressing down on De Santos's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. De Santos preventing the sweep. De Santos working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. De Santos lands a couple of digs.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. De Santos throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Mallon is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. De Santos has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Mallon utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. De Santos passes easily into side control. Nice work. Mallon manages to work his way to half guard, despite De Santos's best efforts. De Santos is working for a kimura but Mallon is defending it quite comfortably.

Mallon is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Mallon taking some punishment here, with De Santos in his half guard.
That has opened up John Mallon's cut even more. De Santos looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Mallon looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. De Santos drops an elbow to the side of Mallon's head. De Santos throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. De Santos scoring with strikes to the body and head.
The cut above John Mallon's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at John Mallon's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
