Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jack Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kay Dot!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Jeff Smith and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dot is defended easily by Jackson.
Jackson throws a lazy right hand but Dot sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Jackson digs a good hook to Dot's body.
Jackson throws an overhand right that lands on Dot's shoulder, as Dot tries to avoid the shot.
Dot shoots and misses

so Jackson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Jackson looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jackson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jack Jackson.

Dot swats away the attempt to clinch by Jackson.
Dot bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Dot has a takedown stuffed.
Jack Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kay Dot.
Jackson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Jackson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Dot shoots in for a takedown but Jackson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jackson tries to clinch up but Dot circles away and keeps his distance.

Jackson has managed to clinch.

Jackson wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Jackson wants to get back to striking at distance but Dot won't allow it.

Jackson has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Dot is trying to keep an underhook but Jackson manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Jackson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Jackson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Jackson passes to side control.
Dot gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Jackson postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Dot looks a forlorn figure.
Dot keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jackson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dot moves away.
Jackson throws a shot from downtown. Dot moves away and avoids it.
Dot shoots in but no luck this time.
Dot shoots in looking for a takedown. Jackson tries to sprawl out of it but Dot keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jackson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Jackson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Dot to the ground. Jackson is now in Dot's guard.
Jackson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Jackson tries to free his leg and advance position but Dot is retaining full guard.
Dot is breathing heavily.

Jackson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Dot can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jackson controls the pace.

We're going to have a standup here because Jack Jackson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Dot throws an overhand right that lands on Jackson's shoulder, as Jackson tries to avoid the shot.
Jackson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kay Dot is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jackson just misses with a punch to the body.
Jackson tries to clinch but Dot moves out of range.

Jackson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jackson lands in his opponent's guard.
Jackson tries to free his leg and advance position but Dot is retaining full guard.

Jackson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That's time! Jackson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!



Jackson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Dot's guard.
Dot can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jackson controls the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jack Jackson just wasn't active enough.
Dot wants to clinch up but Jackson keeps it at a distance.
Jackson is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Dot's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Jackson throws a left and a right that both miss
and Dot counters with a left and a right that stings Jackson.

Jackson scores with a takedown into Dot's guard.
Dot takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Jackson's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Dot avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Jackson wants to pass the guard but Dot is keeping the position.
Dot working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Jackson.
Jackson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dot swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Jack Jackson has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Dot tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jackson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dot somewhat.
Jackson misses with the combination.

Jackson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Dot is trying to defend but Jackson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jackson wants to free his trapped foot but Dot is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Jackson is taking a breather. Dot says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Jackson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Dot for as long as he can get away with.

Jack Jackson has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Jackson just misses with a punch to the body.
Jackson misses the shot to the body.
Kay Dot has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Jackson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dot moves away.

Jackson moves into the clinch.
Dot jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jackson walks away with a smile on his face. Dot gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Dot uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jackson.

Jackson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jackson content just to control the position here.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jack Jackson showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Jackson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
