Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Corwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quinton Alexander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Corwin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Quinton Alexander! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Corwin throws a series of punches but Alexander avoids them all with ease. Corwin fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Corwin looks for a takedown but Alexander sprawls well. Alexander tries to clinch but Corwin moves out of range. Corwin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Alexander swats him away and circles back towards the center. Alexander fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Alexander shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Alexander throws a series of punches but Corwin moves out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Corwin looks to clinch and Alexander counters with a single leg into guard. Corwin didn't expect that. Alexander trying to control the position from guard on top but Corwin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Corwin tries to land a sweep but no joy. Alexander postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alexander avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Alexander postures up and lands a big shot to Corwin's brow. Corwin has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Alexander is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Corwin. Corwin gets back to half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Alexander drops an elbow to the side of Corwin's head. Corwin trying to control here.
Corwin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Alexander content to control rather than advance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Corwin actively working from the bottom here. Alexander trying to control the action but Corwin is working from the bottom. Alexander working the head and body with strikes. Alexander looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Alexander passes the guard and advances to mount! Corwin regains half guard. Corwin wants to improve his position but Alexander is controlling well.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alexander is nestled in close to Corwin, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Alexander lands with a punch from half guard. Corwin is trying to maintain the position but Alexander is very close to passing his half guard. Corwin looking for submissions off his back. Corwin is breathing heavily. Corwin looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Alexander performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Corwin tries to get to full guard but Alexander has control of the leg. Alexander wants to take a breather but Corwin is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Corwin is pressing down on Alexander's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Corwin throws his legs up looking for a submission but Alexander uses it to pass to side control.
You can see the frustration on Corwin's face as Alexander controls the position. Corwin regains half guard. Corwin is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Alexander's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Alexander's back! Corwin is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Alexander with him. Alexander is trying to defend but Corwin has an arm under the chin now! Alexander grimaces and is forced to tap out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Mark Corwin!
