Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Adam Svensson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Ramirez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rob Ramirez will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Adam Svensson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rob Ramirez! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Luis Engracia and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Svensson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Svensson throws a body punch but Ramirez moves out of range. Svensson clinches up with Ramirez and pushes him back against the cage. Svensson tightens his grip and picks Ramirez up, before dumping him to the ground. Ramirez manages to land in guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Ramirez working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Svensson. Ramirez has control of Svensson's left arm, preventing Svensson from doing any damage. Svensson passes easily into side control. Nice work. Svensson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Ramirez is not content to let Svensson control the position. Ramirez tries to bench press Svensson off him but Svensson keeps the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Svensson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Ramirez tries to get back to half guard but can't. Svensson happy to just control the position for now. Ramirez gets back to half guard. Ramirez is looking for a sweep. Svensson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Ramirez desperately trying to maintain half guard. Ramirez is not content to let Svensson control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ramirez tries to get to full guard but Svensson has control of the leg. Ramirez actively working from the bottom here. Svensson with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Svensson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Svensson is trying to control. Ramirez wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Ramirez keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Ramirez is staying active underneath Svensson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Svensson trying to mount his opponent but Ramirez defends it. Svensson moves nicely into side control. Ramirez trying to remain calm as Svensson controls from the top position. Svensson is looking to take a break and control but Ramirez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ramirez is looking for a sweep. Svensson tries to advance to mount but Ramirez denies him. You can see the frustration on Ramirez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Ramirez is trying to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Svensson has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Ramirez! Ramirez wants to hold on but Svensson pushes him away. Ramirez keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Ramirez looks gassed! Svensson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Svensson scoring with strikes but Ramirez is staying in there. Ramirez is desperately trying to improve his position but Svensson has a good base and remains in mount. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Svensson avoids the attempt from Ramirez to control. Svensson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ramirez is looking to escape. Svensson looking to control and managing it successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ramirez displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Svensson. Ramirez is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Svensson. Svensson is looking to clinch. Ramirez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Svensson shoots in and drives through. Ramirez sprawls well. Svensson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adam Svensson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Svensson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ramirez but Ramirez pushes him off and we're back to square one. Svensson takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ramirez misses with a straight left. Adam Svensson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ramirez lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Svensson circles away quickly and effectively. Rob Ramirez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Ramirez throws a series of strikes that have Svensson backpedaling.
Ramirez slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Svensson moves out of range as Ramirez strikes. Ramirez thuds his right hand into Svensson's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Ramirez scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Svensson throws a series of punches but Ramirez avoids them all with ease. Svensson slips a jab from Ramirez. Ramirez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Svensson moves away. Svensson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Svensson trying to mount his opponent but Ramirez defends it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ramirez is trying to maintain the position but Svensson is very close to passing his half guard. Ramirez moves into full guard.
Svensson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Svensson is pushing down on Ramirez's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ramirez is fighting to maintain full guard but Svensson has managed to sneak the leg through. Ramirez wants to get back to full guard. Svensson content to control rather than advance. Ramirez slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Svensson trying to control but Ramirez is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ramirez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Svensson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Svensson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Svensson wants to control from the top but Ramirez keeps moving. Svensson stands up from Ramirez's guard - Svensson perhaps looking for a knockout. Svensson tries to close the distance and clinch but Ramirez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Svensson fails to land with a series of punches.

and Svensson counters with a takedown into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ramirez tries to bench press Svensson off him but Svensson keeps the position. Ramirez is trying to control Svensson's posture but Svensson avoids it. Adam Svensson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ramirez is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Svensson controlling the position from side mount. This has been an exciting period of action! Svensson trying to control the action but Ramirez is working from the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ramirez is positioning himself to get back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Rob Ramirez will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Ramirez throws a series of punches but Svensson avoids them all with ease. Svensson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Ramirez regains half guard. Svensson trying to mount his opponent but Ramirez defends it. Ramirez is refusing to be controlled, as Svensson sits in half guard. Svensson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Adam Svensson has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Horrible takedown by Svensson or perhaps it was just good defense by Ramirez which made him look bad. Svensson takes a shot right to the bread basket. Svensson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Ramirez looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Rob Ramirez seems to be getting the better of the standup. Ramirez scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Ramirez pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Svensson back to the cage. Ramirez follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Ramirez misses with the combination.
Ramirez lands a jab to the head.
Rob Ramirez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Svensson takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Ramirez lands a nice shot that snaps Svensson's head back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Svensson looks for a takedown but Ramirez sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adam Svensson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ramirez throws a series of punches but Svensson avoids them all with ease. Ramirez throws an overhand right that lands on Svensson's shoulder, as Svensson tries to avoid the shot. Svensson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ramirez, pushing him back against the cage. Ramirez throws an elbow that misses.

Ramirez controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Svensson tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Ramirez is defending against the submission attempts here by Svensson.
Ramirez pushes Svensson off looking to stand but Svensson dives back in and keeps control.
Ramirez is trying to control but can't.
Svensson maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Ramirez could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Svensson has cracked it and Ramirez is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Svensson!
