Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gordus Clay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Tennant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clay comes to the cage accompanied by SCOTLAND THE BRAVE !!!. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as David Tennant enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gordus Clay! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, David Tennant! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tennant misses with a two punch combination.
Clay fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Tennant to the ground. Clay is now in Tennant's guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Clay trying to control the position from guard on top but Tennant is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Clay looking to pass the guard. Tennant is trying to control the position but Clay postures up. Clay stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tennant swivels though and keeps the full guard. Clay is looking to advance position but Tennant has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Clay is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clay tries to hold on but Tennant postures up. Tennant looking to control but Clay is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Clay is trying desperately to improve position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Clay prevents any damage by holding on tight. Clay is trying to escape the mount.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Tennant lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Tennant tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Clay was well out of range. Poor timing from Tennant. Clay misses with a hook
and Tennant counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Clay tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tennant swats him away and circles back towards the center. Clay shoots for a takedown but Tennant saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Tennant scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Clay doesn't seem bothered though. Tennant swings for the body but Clay moves out of range.
David Tennant seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tennant throws a hook to the side of Clay's head but Clay sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tennant takes a swing at Clay's ribcage but misses. Tennant takes a shot right to the bread basket. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Clay takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Clay throws a left and a right that both miss
and Tennant counters with a stiff right hand. Clay pushes Tennant up against the cage in a clinch. Tennant escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Clay shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Tennant eats them both and turns towards Clay to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Tennant throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Nice takedown defense from Tennant. No joy for Clay on that attempt. Clay waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Tennant. Clay throws a right and a left that Tennant avoids nicely. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Clay fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Tennant sprawls well initially but Clay persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Tennant keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Clay missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Gordus Clay will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Tennant throws a predictable looking body shot
and Clay counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Clay throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Tennant works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Tennant is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Clay tries to free his leg and advance position but Tennant is retaining full guard. Tennant lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Clay! Clay tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tennant tries to control but Clay wriggling away. Clay wants to hold on but Tennant pushes him away. Clay holds on for dear life, controlling Tennant's posture momentarily. Clay is desperately trying to improve his position but Tennant has a good base and remains in mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Clay wants to control but Tennant is having none of it. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Gordus Clay just wasn't active enough. Clay fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Tennant scores with a jab. Clay uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Tennant.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Clay takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Tennant misses with the combination.
Clay closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Tennant did well to prevent Clay getting side control. Clay thows a huge punch but Tennant dodges it nicely.
Clay throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Clay not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Tennant avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Clay. Clay is stalling here. Tennant is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Clay seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Tennant has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tennant is looking to take a break and control but Clay is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Clay is looking to regain half guard here but Tennant keeps moving and retains side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gordus Clay dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

A combination from Tennant does no damage. No luck for Clay with that takedown attempt. Tennant stuffs the takedown attempt from Clay. Clay gets slowly back to his feet. Tennant moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Tennant scores with a jab to the head.

This has been an exciting period of action! Tennant circles away from the clinch attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clay gets a double leg takedown into Tennant's guard. Clay with a flurry of punches that miss. Clay looking to pass the guard. That's two minutes gone in the round. Clay is looking to work some ground and pound but Tennant has wrist control. Clay sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Tennant's guard. Clay thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Tennant's head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tennant is controlling Clay's trapped leg to prevent Clay from advancing to side control. Gordus Clay overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Clay looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Tennant with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Clay looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Clay missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Clay sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Tennant defending well though. Clay thumps the canvas. Tennant fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Clay manages to avoid it. Clay misses with a hook. Tennant ducked under it nicely. Tennant tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Clay was well out of range. Poor timing from Tennant. Tennant lands with a straight right. Clay didn't see that one coming. Tennant misses the shot to the body. Tennant stuffs the takedown attempt from Clay. Clay gets slowly back to his feet. Clay uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Tennant. Tennant throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Clay shoots in looking for a takedown. Tennant tries to sprawl out of it but Clay keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tennant manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Tennant throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

and Clay counters with a single leg into guard. Tennant didn't expect that. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Clay passes Tennant's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Tennant takes one on the button. Tennant feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Clays jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Clay moves in looking to clinch but Tennant pushes him off. Tennant ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Clay moves away. Clay tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tennant sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Clay somewhat. Tennant throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Clay catches Tennant with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Clay throws a big shot that misses. Tennant misses the shot to the body. Clay cracks Tennant with a good jab. Clay fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Tennant sprawls well initially but Clay persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clay trying to pass the guard but Tennant defending well. Clay landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Tennant blocking the ground and pound attempt from Clay. Clay sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Tennant defending well though. Clay is pressing down on Tennant's thigh, looking to free his foot. Tennant is holding on for now. David Tennant has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Gordus Clay is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tennant can do anything to dispel that myth.

More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Tennant is wobbling all over the place through exhaustion. Will he make it to the final bell? Tennant looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Clay passes easily into side control. Nice work. A lull in the action here as Clay stalls from top position. Clay throwing strikes but Tennant manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Clay manages to work his way to half guard, despite Tennant's best efforts. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Clay moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Gordus Clay showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Clay, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
