Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mark Walter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walter's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Black Sabbath - War Pigs . Lewis has chosen Shut'Em Down as his entrance music. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mark Walter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mike Lewis!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Lewis looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Lewis tries to close the distance and clinch but Walter swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Walter shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lewis pinned against the cage. Lewis gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Walter throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lewis's waist but Lewis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Walter off to one side.
Lewis tries to clinch but Walter moves out of range.
Walter closes the distance and clinches up with Lewis, looking for a takedown. Walter pushes Lewis against the cage but Lewis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Walter. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lewis gets caught napping as Walter dives in and scores a takedown. Lewis manages to retain guard.
Walter pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lewis is keeping the position for now.
Lewis wants to get back to his feet but Walter is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Walter postures up in Lewis's guard and throws a big left but Lewis blocks it.
Lewis keeping moving, preventing Walter from controlling successfully.
Lewis can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Walter controls the pace.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lewis wants to get back to his feet but Walter is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Walter wants to control from the top but Lewis keeps moving.
Lewis is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Walter is controlling him.
Lewis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Walter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lewis can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Walter controls the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mark Walter wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Lewis tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Walter paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Walter swats away the attempt to clinch by Lewis.
Walter shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lewis as he avoids it easily.
Lewis tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Walter manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Lewis doesn't manage to clinch there - Walter circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Walter scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Lewis parries the strikes from Walter easily there. Walter is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Lewis to escape.
Lewis wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Lewis is working to avoid the ground and pound but Walter connects with a decent elbow.
Walter has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Lewis!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Walter takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Walter is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Lewis is forced to tap! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mark Walter!
In his post fight interview, Mark Walter started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
