Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 17 - 1, fighting out of London, Eugene Bradley Burns!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Burns with that takedown attempt.
Burns thows a body shot but no joy.
Katsumoto connects with a solid leg kick.
Burns misses the jab.
Eugene Bradley Burns seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Burns tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Burns dives in and scores a takedown into Katsumoto's guard.
Burns preventing the sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Burns must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Burns pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Katsumoto is keeping the position for now.
Burns lands a couple of elbows.
Burns wants to control from the top but Katsumoto keeps moving.
Katsumoto manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Katsumoto breaks from Burns's wrist control and lands an elbow.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Katsumoto cracks Burns with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Burns is desperately trying to improve his position but Katsumoto has a good base and remains in mount.
Katsumoto has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Katsumoto lands a heavy elbow.

Katsumoto is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Burns goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Katsumoto!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Takashi Katsumoto!
After the fight, Takashi Katsumoto was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
