PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between War Machine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Draven Lucas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, War Machine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Draven Lucas!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A cross from Lucas lands.
Machine misses with a leg kick
and Lucas counters with a good, hard body kick but Machine shrugs it off.

Lucas drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Machine looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lucas is one step ahead there.
Lucas trying to control but Machine is working from the bottom.
Machine has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Lucas has passed into side control.
Lucas is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Machine will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
You can see the frustration on Machine's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Machine is trying to work for a sweep but Lucas has mounted him!
Machine is bucking up trying to escape but Lucas cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Machine can't escape the position.
Lucas trying to control but Machine is having none of it.
Machine is desperately trying to improve his position but Lucas has a good base and remains in mount.
Lucas trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Lucas might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Machine kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Machine tries to reverse the position but Lucas maintains control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lucas punching from mount but Machine doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Machine is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Machine is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Machine defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Lucas.
Lucas throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lucas tries to control but Machine wriggling away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lucas thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Lucas punching from mount but Machine doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Machine keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Lucas takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Machine avoids a series of strikes thrown by Lucas.
Machine really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Machine stops Lucas from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Lucas unloads with some shots from mount but Machine bucks and avoids them well.
Machine can't escape the position.

Lucas working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Machine looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Lucas! Submission of the night perhaps?
