Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jimbo Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aira Panganiban (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Aira Panganiban was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jimbo Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Aira Panganiban! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones fails with the takedown and Panganiban counters with a shoot takedown. Jones fights it but they end up in guard. Panganiban must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Panganiban preventing the sweep. Jones is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Panganiban is aware though and is defending well. Jones looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Panganiban got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jones has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Panganiban has managed to get both his arms back between Jones's legs - danger averted. Panganiban throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Panganiban content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Jones controls Panganiban momentarily but Panganiban frees himself. Jones manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Panganiban manages to get himself to full guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Panganiban can do anything to dispel that myth. Jones stops Panganiban from standing up. Jones loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones prevents Panganiban from getting back to his feet. Jones connects with a couple of short punches. Panganiban wants to get back to his feet but Jones is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Panganiban is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Jones passes easily into side control. Nice work. Panganiban is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Jones has just dragged him back down to the mat. Jones connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Panganiban some visible discomfort.
Panganiban is not content to let Jones control the position. Jones looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. This has been an exciting period of action! Panganiban wants to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones wants to control but Panganiban is keeping him busy. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Jones works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Panganiban is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Jones has hold of Panganiban's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Panganiban seems comfortable defending it but Jones has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Panganiban is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Panganiban is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Jones couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jimbo Jones!
