The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua dodges the punch combination from Brown.
Brown shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rua but Rua pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Rua uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Brown.
Brown tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rua swivels and escapes.
Brown swats away the attempt to clinch by Rua.
Brown misses with a double jab.
Brown looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Rua looks like he's trying to stand up.
Brown is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Rua tries to kick Brown off but Brown keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Rua tries to land knees in the clinch but Brown avoids the damage to the body.

Rua is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Brown is keeping busy.
Brown drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Rua gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Rua throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Brown blocks it with crossed arms.
Brown tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rua just stands there and leans against the cage.
Rua is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Rua is trying to break the clinch but Brown has him pressed against the cage.

Brown drops down looking for an ankle pick but Rua pulls his leg out and moves away.
Brown has a takedown stuffed.
Brown is breathing heavily.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Rua checks a leg kick.
Rua tries to clinch up but Brown circles away and keeps his distance.
Brown misses with a body kick.
Brown throws a head kick that misses.
Brown shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rua but Rua pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Rua showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Brown.
Brown misses with the combination.

and Rua counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Rua.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Rua takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Rua escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Brown shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Brown shoots in looking for a takedown. Rua tries to sprawl out of it but Brown keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rua manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Brown lands with a nice body punch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Milani Rua will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Brown thows a leg kick but Rua checks it
and Rua holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Rua throws a knee to the head but misses.
Rua manages to break the clinch.
Rua tries to close the distance and clinch up but Brown swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A jab from Brown misses.
Rua fails in his attempt to clinch.
Rua tries to clinch there but Brown circles away.

Brown wants to clinch but Rua slips to the side
and Rua counters by moving into the clinch.
Rua crunches a lovely knee into Brown's ribcage.
Rua throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Brown blocks it with crossed arms.

Rua tries to land a knee to the head but Brown blocks with his arms.
With the fighters up against the cage, Rua throws an elbow but misses.
Brown decides to pull guard.
Brown keeping moving, preventing Rua from controlling successfully.

Rua controlling from the top position.
Brown looking for a guillotine here but Rua defends easily.
Brown wants to sweep here but Rua controlling him for the moment.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rua wants to stand but Brown is controlling his posture from full guard.
Brown has his foot on Rua's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rua works his way back into a safe position though.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Rua wants to control from the top but Brown keeps moving.

Rua won't allow Brown to sweep him here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Brown throws a lazy head kick
and Rua moves into the clinch.
Rua wants to get back to striking at distance but Brown won't allow it.

A nice glancing elbow lands by Rua.
Rua throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Brown blocks it with crossed arms.
Brown pulls guard effortlessly.
Brown has his feet on Rua's thighs here. He's pushed Rua off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Rua screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
