Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Deacon Batista (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lyoto Shogun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lyoto Shogun is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Deacon Batista! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lyoto Shogun ! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Arvi Lind and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some wild striking there from Shogun .
Shogun scores to the head and body with a nice combination! A head kick misses from Shogun . Shogun throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Shogun misses with a double jab.
Shogun throws a right and a left that both miss. Shogun throws a series of strikes that have Batista backpedaling.
Batista decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Batista is looking to advance position but Shogun won't allow it. Batista stops Shogun from getting back to his feet.
Batista passes to side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Shogun prevents Batista from improving position. Batista is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shogun trying to remain calm as Batista controls from the top position. Batista prevents Shogun from escaping the position. Batista tries to score with some ground and pound. Shogun controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Shogun is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Batista is controlling him well. Batista decides to stand back up. Batista steps back and let's Shogun get back to his feet. Shogun misses with a few strikes there.
Shogun closes the distance and lands a one-two. Shogun misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Shogun misses with a double jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shogun misses with the combination.
Shogun connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Good standup being displayed there by Shogun as he connects with a hook. Batista rushes Shogun and presses him up against the cage. Batista turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Batista manages to end up in side control. Batista in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Shogun is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Deacon Batista!
