The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Adams fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bennett sprawls well initially but Adams persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Adams wants to control but Bennett is keeping him busy.
Bennett is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Adams wants to free his trapped foot but Bennett is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Adams wants to work for an arm triangle but Bennett is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Adams slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Adams bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bennett's guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Riley Adams will probably get the nod.

Bennett takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Bennett is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Adams has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Adams!
Bennett can't keep his opponent in guard - Adams advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Adams is looking to stall here but Bennett recovers full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Adams wants to control from the top but Bennett keeps moving.

Bennett is looking for a triangle here but Adams uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Adams remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Riley Adams overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
